Garrison formally announces re-election campaign

State Representative Jennifer Garrison formally announced today she will be seeking re-election to the 93rd Ohio House District.

Garrison, D-Marietta, is in her first term representing Guernsey, Noble, Monroe, and parts of Washington and Muskingum counties in the Ohio House of Representatives. She filed her nominating petitions with the Washington County Board of Elections on Tuesday, February 14, 2006.

“It’s been a privilege to represent the 93rd District in the Statehouse,” Garrison said. “I’m looking forward to continuing the fight for middle-class families here in southeast Ohio – for fiscal discipline, for a system of school funding that doesn’t put so much of the burden on property taxes, and for policies that create jobs and get our economy moving again.”

Garrison said she is particularly pleased to have sponsored a Resolution calling for the General Assembly to finally address the inadequate and inequitable school funding formula in Ohio.   Garrison also says, “I have drafted a school funding proposal that   takes the burden off of property owners.”

“I am very hopeful with a new Governor in Ohio, school funding will finally be addressed.  The children of Ohio need a Governor and Legislature to make their future a priority.  I hope to have the privilege of being a part of the solution.” Garrison said.
